The 5-1 Goodpasture Cougars travel to play the unbeaten 6-0 Stratford Spartans next Friday.  

 

As of now, these are the top 2 teams in 3A Region 5 and this game might decide who wins the Region.  Should be one to watch.

Stratford will win. Too many athletes on the field for GP to contain. GP has turned things around no doubt and the youth has grown up fast. Good things to come at GP. How long has it been since they were in playoffs and got a win .

Cougars last playoff game was 2nd round they lost 31-19 to the 2013 State Champs Trousdale Co.  That year they had their last payoff win In the 1st round they beat Jackson Co 27-0.  Goodpasture ended the year 6-6.

Goodpasture still has to find a win against Stratford, CPA, WHH, or EN to get to playoffs. I don't think they can beat Stratford but the others are all possible. The question will be if GP loses to Stratford, which I think they will, how will they respond.
