New Classification and Regions

That does make sense: having a set number cut-off for each classification. 8 regions with top 4 making playoffs. To me this would be using the KISS principle (keep it sensible & simple. Yes, I cleaned up the more common [& more insulting] way this acronym is used). But Lord forbid doing anything that is simple & sensible. Make it hard & complicated by all means.

It's no big deal unless you are riding in those torturous, uncomfortable schoolbuses. Or you're a parent working late and are late to games or can't go at all, or you can't afford extra gas expenses every week, or your car isn't trip worthy, etc, et al, ad nauseum. Or you are a school official on a limited strained budget and the money for these trips isn't there so the kids, parents, & community have to do fund raisers (which we did often back in my HS days- making trips in them covered wagons was more expensive than folk realize. Ha.). Nope, long trips aren't a big deal... unless you dealing with a 1001 other reasons. But, I am fully aware that the decision makers can't please everyone nor make it easy for all and they will do what they wish (and I know some will say that perhap$ they decide thing$ with certain $tandard$ in mind that help$ them$elve$ rather than "common people"). Whatever happens, it is what it is, and everyone will just have to deal with it best they can.

Good post hevy! My parents are in their 70s and would love to come watch their grandson's game. Its hard for my mother to sit at home games very long due to fibromyalgia, let alone travel 2 to 3 hours to Cumberland Gap or Rockwood and sit for 2 more hours. Sometimes "one game on Friday" takes a few days toll on her.

I just thought it was quite interesting that T$$AA already established cut-off numbers for the 3 Division II classifications before enrollment numbers were due...........But no mention of any cut-off numbers for the public schools had to turn their numbers in.

Example:  Anybody think its interesting that WEBB and CPA both turned in counts of 449 with the cut number being 451 to move to biggest private school division???

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
