If you want to read a story about a great young lady that was named McNairy Central's homecoming queen this past Friday, check the link below. Sara Jo Hurst has a rare condition Costello syndrome. The football seniors voted for her as one of their senior representatives and the students voted her queen.

The story has gone viral after television stations in Memphis and Birmingham posted the story.

Maybe the future isn't lost...lol! Seriously though, glad to live in part of the world where our youth still have some respect and compassion. Riverside had a ball boy run back a kick for a touchdown a 'couple of weeks back, and Scotts Hill's sophomore class favorite this year has downs...makes you remember that football is really just a game.

With all of the mess being said in our county, this is a great example of what is right. I am a Bobcat, and I have friends who are Cardinals. I'm excited about their success, and I'm so thankful that we live in a county where the kids are going to do good things, regardless of how their parents act.

Go Cats!

Go Cards!

You said it my friend. We need to rally behind all of our youth and not belittle ones that make different choices no matter the reason
