Will Jessie be the OC? Wasn't Tanner Williams the OC, or just QB coach?

Coach Jesse will be the OC.  We lost Tanner right before the season last year.  He had a issue with certification to teach and ended up getting a job at Scott High as their OC.  He did a great job there last season for them.  It left AC behind the 8ball a little last year as Tanner got the teaching job at Scott so late, but the staff did a good job adjusting.

I didn't mean to press a button or anything I was just stating what I had heard. As far a thackerson goes Rodney Ellison developed him into a a Solid QB not Jessie. As you may have noticed this year, Clintons QB play was Awful. I have no ill feeling towards AC. They should have a good year and possibly contend for a region champioship.

We will get to see what Jessie offense can

Cant wait to see how Jessie's offense will do against Clinton this year.

AC must be returning a lot of players from last years team because you guys are awfully confident. Central may be the favorite to win this region. I think they were very young last year

AC was young last year. Going from the region they were in to the current Region is 10 times weaker. No one from Chatt Central league last year made it out of the first round. Stone memorial who won your district last year would have been in a dog fight to even make it to the playoffs in the same district as AC. Stone would have won 2 or 3 games on AC schedule if you have seen who they played.

I still can't understand some of the AC posters on here actually stating that they are excited to travel 2 1/2 to 3 hours to play games .. start new, rivalries .. lol .. really .. what they really want to say is glad we don't play Knox Catholic, Knox Central and Fulton anymore ... they should have moved up too like Fulton .. so they would not have to travel to Chattanooga etc .. terrible schedule for AC ..

I'm not a AC fan at all (Greeneville fan actually), just giving an explanation of to why they think they will win more games. There are alot of teams in 4a that wouldn't want to be in that district lol. But you are right I'm sure AC is glad they don't have to play Fulton, Catholic, or Central

Fulton would have been stuck in a small district and would have traveled to Chattanooga like AC .. no way said Fulton.. I love there new schedule .. playing all.their games within a few miles .. gonna be alot of fun .. will miss playing Greeneville .. enjoyed the rivalry .. but Greeneville should have a cake walk not playing Fulton , Central or Knox Catholic in playoffs .. if ya get by Betsy it's safe sailing ..

They've got a promising young team and, travel aside, they've got a joke of a schedule - no one scary in that new region, so Carter might be their toughest regular season game. I certainly understand the optimism, but I don't think there is any question that much of that excitement has to do with avoiding Catholic/Central/Fulton. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I'd be excited too!

Personally, I think AC should have moved up simply to avoid the travel, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with playing where you've been classified.

No one scary in that region has to be a joke because Anderson Count is not scary itself in all honesty.

T, If AC would have known that Fulton, Carter and Gibbs were going to run off to 5A the day of the deadline, AC would have probably considered it.  We just thought we had played Fulton, Carter, Gibbs and that would be our district.  When we heard that the Knox Co schools had ran off to 5a, it was a little late as the deadline had passed.  That decision by the Knox Co schools was made because it was thought that Alcoa was coming to 4a, and everyone jumped. Alcoa stayed, and everyone else jumped.   What choice do we have other than to be excited about playing in the Chattanooga region?  Crying about it on a website won't do any good. We are choosing to be excited for our kids as we play some new teams that we have never played before. Would we rather be in the old district with Central, Halls, Powell, Oak Ridge, you bet.  But TSSAA allows teams to move up without warning, and we got left as an outlyer.    We can't fix that and won't cry about it.  We have a very good football team returning.  We don't have to be scary in March, we will do that in September, October, and November.

my whole point was never count your eggs before they hatch.  you cant down play competition when you haven't won any games either.  Bad teams cant call other bad teams bad lol

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
