Congrats to everyone on another season! Congrats to Camden for winning the regular season and district championship! I find it very sad however that Coach Dave Roberts was not given Coach of the Year.

I would say that Camden's coach has solidified his case for COY with the run in both the district and now especially in the regional tourney! Great in game adjustments especially last night against GC

Camden won big but.....


After the game a Waverly parent came on to the court and started giving the Waverly HC a chewing about her kid not playing or not playing enough  he has a temper not sure what was said but there was a lot of finger pointing and clear cussing.I got all that from a Waverly parent. 

The rest i saw with my own eyes and heard with my ears

 

 I am not sure if the dad got in on it but the 4 cops had arrived by then.They tried to step in and Waverlys coach accosted the police lots of get off me twisting and arm throwing which might have been passed off as "I didn't know who was on me" but then he straight up shoved not one not two but three different police officers ..they are now waiting for the Gym to clear out to take the HC to JAIL lol.  Game and after party were worth every penny.

 

If the Waverly student section hadn't forced waverly police to escort our team to the  bus a week ago then there wouldn't have been as many police there so thank goodness for that. :rolleyes:

So it was the Wavo girl's coach or the boy's coach? Three counts of assaulting a police officer? Ouch!

He is outta control and has been for awhile. But daddy is on the school board. So let's see what happens? Even if parent confronted him he should have used better judgement and handled it with principal later. Not in front of crowd and both teams. Principal and AD are good people they are professional and will handle it if they can. Best coach on that campus is girls coach.

both are at fault! the mom should not have confronted the coach about playtime ever! and if she has a problem with the coach she should have done it in private.    as for the coach he will have to learn more about being an example to the kids and teach them to control their emotions. step back take a deep breath!  all sports should teach life lessons!  hope the kids saw how not to act from both. its not worth it!

That's one thing. Assaulting police officers is a whole other can of worms.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
