Girls AP Poll

Why is the CoachT poll much more accurate than the AP poll.  I would assume all the voters in the AP Poll are from the larger cities and have no clue as to what is going on in some of the smaller towns.  The Single A poll is a joke, The number 10 team gets in because some sportswriter gives them a first place vote. This person should never be allowed to vote again.

I'd say you're correct on the larger cities remark. Overall AAA is way down across the state. At least two of the top 5 AAA schools are exactly 1 twisted ankle away from being average or below without their star. Some just won't have the fouls to give in the state tourney the way it's called most years. Not a shot at the refs. But at some point you need a bench.

The CoachT rankings are based on a formula that is similar to the RPI ratings that the NCAA uses to seed teams in the National Tourney brackets. That formula is used in all sports on CoachT rankings. All the polls and formulas go out the window at tourney time. :popcorneater:

And I will agree with that 100%. The AP and coacht polls are pretty close, for the most part, this time around. But neither one matters when these teams begin to face each other.

Why have a top ten...Only eight make it to the glass house...AND why put teams in there that you know will not have a chance in making it to the boro? three teams from one region won't get in...that's the way it's set up..It's not right..some teams can't compete with the top three while other teams sit home that could possibly win it all. But the freaking TSSAA is outdated, why do high schools allow them to control the high school sports. Form their own organization with QUALIFIED people who can organize these playoffs. We don't need TSSAA, money making buttholes, HIGH SHOOLS get on board, form your own organization. Make your own playoffs. Get the "REAL" champion each year, not one that got the luck of the draw, which is a joke.

    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
    • I agree I don't think it will go to trial either, but I feel like that will be because no judge would deem this to warrant a law suit... If the school board settles, they loose and all coaches and schools loose too.
