Trust me--CAK is definitely the underdog in this match-up.

CAK's opening loss to Christ School of Asheville was largely due to a -3 turnover ratio, with all 3 of CAK's turnovers coming inside or very close to the red zone, so they left several points on the ground.

Last week, though, the Warriors seemed to regress against a good but probably not great, but well coached and highly motivated, Greenback team.  Legitimate final score should have been 35-7 (though CAK's TD came against Greenback's 2's).  One of Greenback's scores should have been waved off--ref admitted to coaches afterwards he blew an inadvertent whistle after Greenback snapped the ball while chains were being moved but before ref started clock (all players stopped at the whistle except the receiver who kept running and QB threw to him).  GB fans might complain that a couple of other TD's were "called back" due to penalties--and they were indeed, but the holding was clear in both cases and contributed to the breakaway runs.  However, CAK played horribly and got the whipping that comes from sloppy, uninspired play.

The Warriors did lose several key seniors from last year's team.  This year they have plenty of good skill players, but right now the OL is very young and inexperienced, and an offense can't be any better than its OL no matter how good its skill players are.  One senior on OL, two juniors (one of whom has never played OL before), one sophomore and one freshman round out the starting OL.  The senior is the only returning starting from last year's OL. The OL is struggling mightily right now with both run and pass blocking.

On D, the coaches are struggling to find the right mix of personnel for the secondary.  Some guys are playing well against the pass but not against the run and vice versa.

It will be a big challenge for the Warriors as they make their first ever visit to ND.

Where's the best place(s) to get a bite to eat near the ND campus?

3 TDs were called back but as you said it was penalties.I was curious why your team didn't play ball on that Touchdown I wonder if they told our coaches the same thing haven't heard that one yet.CAKs five forced Turnovers didn't help either, nor did the 474 yards to 160 (most came on last drive against the twos as you stated). You all also need some major help on special teams.Kids have to be aggressive on KOs and go get the ball so the other team doesn't.CAK has some GREAT looking kids and I was very proud of our average at best team.Good luck with this Irish.

so was the Sr pool that heavy last year

kinda hard to gage that underdog thing.....the Irish let not a very good Baylor team push us around a little and we won against a not so good Trinity Academy team.....Offense looked good tho

Booger just sayin:)

Booger you are a trip. If Baylor is not very good but beat ND 42-7 before the jv was put in, what does that make ND? Asking for a friend.

not 2 good...

...Private DII-AAA Baylor 42 - Private DII-AA ND 21

...Public DI-5A Catholic North 56 - Private DII-AAA Baylor 24

....cause Booger nose lots of stuff......Booger nose the pain is much more worser to have them big Private pants pulled down and that tail blistered by a smaller PUB school like KC that can't recruit like a big DII-AAA juggernutlaughing-my-ass-off-smiley-emoticon.gif like Baylor.

and remember....KC even gave the Raiders a 2 TD headstart to try and make it fare in the end and the refs still had to call back 2 Catholic North TDs to keep a runnin clock from embarrissin Baylor and the TFP.....and that before KC put in there JV so Baylor could score a couple TD's.......thats gotta b even more painful than what the Irish felt in the Baylor loss

Booger feelin that hurt down in Sparta

Very good points, and I stand corrected on the number of TDs called back.  The Cherokees were clearly the better team and are much better than average--my previous comment was that I am not sure the Cherokees are quite as good this year as last year (which was definitely a great team)--still obviously better than the Warriors, and the Kees clearly play with a lot of energy and spirit and are very well coached.  And you're absolutely right that CAK needs to play with more aggressiveness and stop turning the ball over.

On the TD pass you're talking about, players on both teams stopped when they heard the whistle.  Greenback was doing exactly what it should have  been doing in terms of getting to the line and snapping the ball as soon as the clock was started, but they actually snapped a little before the ball was signaled ready for play, and when the ref blew the whistle...he thought he was blowing to wind the clock, but the ball had already been snapped.  Film shows the majority of players on both teams stopped playing when they heard the whistle.

Good luck to Greenback the rest of the way.  My guess is you guys have a chance to make a good run at it this year.

You're like going back and forth with a child. You clearly were not at the game because when Catholic put their jv in late in the fourth (after going for a two point conversion) so did Baylor and Baylor didn't score. The blowout was a legit blowout with no late scores for the JV. Unlike ND who kept their starters in the entire game and put up 14 against Baylor JV to make it look like not a complete blowout. Oh so now we are going to blaim the refs for two of the most athletic plays made on a football field to put Baylor up 14-10. Makes sense. 6 turnovers is why the score was so lopsided.  Catholic was better but not 30 points better. You don't take care of the football you get beat. Even ND would have been in the game if Baylor had turned it over 6 times (4 of them unforced) .

Booger I know a historically weaker Baylor team embarrassed a historically stronger ND team 42-7 by mid 3rd and I know that hurt your feelings and I know you're butt hurt. Normally the team that takes the L doesn't start running their mouth when another team beats a team that killed them. That just means your team is nowhere close to as good as you think. Clearly you don't realize that the worse Baylor does in their brutal schedule exposes ND with how weak The Trinity Christians of the world are and ND. I'm sure you'd say Trinitys Christian was a solid football team. lol you're funny

Boogers Logic

Catholic- Very Good

Baylor-Not Very Good

Notre Dame- Very Bad

Even Mcgregor knows to stop running his mouth after a loss. Maybe you should follow his example. Because at the end of the day the weakest Baylor team I've seen in several years still put a running clock on your little Irish.

Maybe this weaker CAK team can do the same. I doubt it because I'm logical and give credit where credit is due and I think ND is better this year but I wouldn't mind seeing the Warriors bounce back this week with how much boog runs that little mouth.

For the record I think ND has a good team this year. You're the one who thinks they are bad. Lol booger logic.

I see why other posters went off on you after the baylor game. You're kind of annoying. I'll disengage debating this with you because it's literally like arguing with a child. Good luck to your Irish this Friday.

In all seriousness Warrior..... the Shell Petro & Pullet Parts Eatery @ Dodson & Wilcox - 1.5 mi does have some fantastic yard foul.....but until our Mayor Berke quits sellin his soul for political gain on worthless issues and gets a grip on our bluds & criptic tussel...your at risk of stray lead..... there will b better options w/out a Boogers Escort Service.....just not close

Popular Nearest Options:

.....Parkridge and CHI Memotial Hospital Cafeterias - less than .5 mi

.....Sugars Ribs - 2 mi

.....Champys - 3 mi :thumb:

......Amigos, Longhorns, Chick Fliet,  Buds (Smokers Alley) - 5000 block of Brainerd Rd - 4 mi

...thats bout as good as it gets without hitting the Hamilton Mall area or downtown...

Changing the offensive to a power run is so dumb. Cak doesn't have the size up front to do this... When was the last time Cak started 0-3?

sincerly Beeker

without size up front...the power run offense may not be the best choice against ND

Booger just sayin :D

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
