I was at a basketball game the other night and heard a conversation about kids that have stayed back in 7th and 8th grade. They were talking about the TSSAA taking a larger interest in this do to the large number of kids staying back in the 7th and 8th grade and playing again in middle school. According to the rule if a kid stays back in the 7th or 8th grade and participates in a sport they will not be eligible in the 9th grade to play any sport. I had not heard of this being an issue.
