Anyone know who all got district awards?

I am going to say Helton from Warren will be MVP, Also probably get Ward, Smith, Bottoms, Cantrell, maybe Adcock

White County will probably have McDonald, Girdley, Smith, Allen, Mills and Honorable Mention of Beasley,  and maybe Farris

Cookeville will probably have Key, Espinosa, Dale, Stamps, Kelly, Davis, maybe Spivey

Don't know many names from Rhea or Stone, But will get both district pitchers on there from Both teams

JUST MY Opinion

Warren district honorees were Helton MVP and Smith, Ward, Adams, Cantrell and Holder. The weak district is done in the playoffs and that is with District 5 not being as strong as in past years either. I still believe neither Cookeville or Warren would have advanced out of most previous years' races. Stone is not good, Rhea has regressed in the past years - they even  lost to Stone in the play-in - and White is White. Should be Cookeville and Warren for the foreseeable future by default. The one thing that became obvious if folks were not aware of this before is that Butch is head and shoulders above the rest of the district in getting the most out of his teams. Congrats to all Warren district honorees.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
