Where does King's go from here?  Is there anyone on staff that would be a good fit or will Lowe take an assistant or two to Powell with him?  Is there another head coach in the Knoxville area that would like to give it a try at TKA?  It's definitely not the same job now as it was when Lowe got there, but, they should be going through a pretty major rebuild this year.

TKA was getting kids in from other schools that were good players but didn't play.Tucker Brown rode the bench at Seymour and became a very good player at TKA who is going to be playing at Thomas More in KY.Kids knew how great Coach Lowe was and were coming from Stone Memorial,West and other places to play here. They were doing half as good as Alcoa and Maryville on recruiting and don't tell me any B.S. that those schools don't.I talk to all the coaches and know what is what.TKA has reached it's peak and I'm afraid other than Softball and Volleyball that will it be there. The cowards who quit playing them in football will be ringing their phone off the hook.

Coach Lowe did a fantastic job at TKA.He was getting numbers way up and teams that once begged to play them in football after beating them by 40,50 points now lost to them, wouldn't play them and ofc called them cheaters lol. With Scott Galyon coming to Seymour TKA was no longer going to get kids who were done wrong by Seymour.Where they could start and play right away at TKA.Unless they pull out a miracle I see this being bad for TKA.I understand they promised turf, new lights, more money, etc for Lowe and football.Well I wish him the best and hope his household which caused him to leave Powell the first time is in order this time.

How many kids from Seymour play for TKA? I'm not saying those kids would not have helped but Seymour just went 0-10. From following local FB in Knoxville, I don't see Seymour competing very well in the league they play in. Nothing against Galyon, I just don't see them having the horses in that community to compete on an annual basis. Kids want to win and their parents want them to have a good experience. TKA will most likely continue to be much more competitive in the league they play in.

This is pure speculation, but I think Powell pushed Ellison out. Principal at Powell was an assistant on Lowe's staff during his first tenure at Powell, and I believe they forced to Rodney out to bring Lowe back. The idea that promises never materialized at TKA may be true, but that doesn't change my belief that Powell's principal just wanted his buddy back on the sidelines. This isn't a slight at Coach Lowe. He has done more than enough to prove he deserving of any job he gets. However, I still believe that Ellison was forced out after the best season Powell has had since Rang got fired. Like I said though, this is all just speculation. I hope the best for Lowe and his players, and I was happy to see Ellison land a good job at Catholic.

I don't think the Principal was on Lowe's staff. He was the basketball coach at South-Doyle, then went to Carter prior to coming to Powell.

Troy Fleming is a name that I am hearing for the TKA opening. I can confirm that he was on campus yesterday. Something tells me he would do just about anything to get away from Concord Christian.

Coach Fleming would be a great hire. He's a good man, in addition to being a good leader and football coach. He just needs more athletes to succeed. Concord has a long way to go to become competitive in football. But, they're program is still very young. We all took our lumps when we started our programs.

I was misinformed. Thanks for clearing that up.

No, you weren't totally wrong.

Both the Principal and the Assistant Principal/AD at Powell High are named Chad Smith.

The Principal goes by Dr. Chad Smith, and the AD by simply Chad Smith.  The AD, Chad Smith, coached DBs for Matt during his first tenure at Powell.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
