You MC fellas have been awl ful quite up that way so far this year! Have you lost a bunch of posters or what?

Switching to the spread will be interesting to see. Hopefully that will work out for the team. Good luck at least until the SP game!

Most of the ones that were usually on here crowing a lot had kids and nephews on the team that have graduated. I probably won't be on too much once the season starts unless more MC posters show up.

The new offense worries me a little this season. Hopefully they get it together enough to make the playoffs.

LMBO... you know better than this. Marion County will challenge for the region title. Tyner will be tough, but I expect Marion County to have a shot in that one too.

Never know.. they will be a solid team. On paper Trousdale and Meigs should meet in the semifinals, but you know games aren’t won on paper.

Thanks for the love but, if we make it there are a couple teams in the east that will have underachieved this season.

As of today I think we may be the 5th or 6th best team in the east in 2A.

But you dont have to compete with all those to get there.I have TC in Cookeville right now.

We would meet TC in 2nd or 3rd round probably. I haven't seen TC or Meigs this year. I saw Tyner Friday and there will have to be improvements for them to return to Cookeville. You can't underestimate them but they weren't the team I've read about being loaded. TC had talent last year you could see in flashes. There was just something that wasn't there. I'm not trying to bash them I'm trying to be honest. They just didn't have the toughness I was used to seeing from them. Meigs returns a lot and with their qb they may be hard to handle. It's too early for me to pick one out of 2A. We should know by the middle of the season.

I believe our halfback will be a handful this season as well, he's put on alot of weight and is probably fastest person on the team. Our OL. Has improved some as well from what I have seen and was told. If we are close anywhere on defense as we were last year we will be a contender for Cookeville. And the qb is what he is . An anomaly you don't get kids with his skills that often and when you do kids like him are normally carrying the rest of the team on their backs. That's not the case with Meigs he's surrounded by a good lot of kids with just as much determination to win as he has. I'd put them against anyone in 2A and know we would compete. I still haven't seen much defensively yet to be sold yet, but hopefully by the end of the week I will know.

I was told Tyner was missing about 25 of their players at that scrimmage.... almost every starter was held out... I think this years MC team will end up with a record similar to last years and Tyner will win the region hands down....

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
