No matter what they do they won't stop Dekalb. No matter how many transfers no matter how many prayers. No matter what you think Dekalb as usual Will hang 50 plus on them. Cannon is with out a doubt better now that the clown coaching is gone. But dekalb is absolutely loaded at the skill position. Loaded!!!!!!! Young but good players. No chance it will be over when Dekalb steps on the Field

Loaded at skill positions.......? That bunch missed the bus!

The 1967 team was really good and had the leading scorer in the state Tom Dillard at tailback. The 1969 team was ranked as high as  number two in the state and the 1970 team  only  gave    up 90 points with four shutouts. The 1973 team was I think 7-3 and the 1974 bunch was 10-0. From 1975- 1978 four really good teams in a row and then the next year they went from Class  A to AA and that was it. The 1985 bunch went to a bowl game and the 1995 and the 2009 to the playoffs

who was in their district during the late 70's?

The old Duck River   Valley Conference Lynchburg, Chapel  Hill , Spring Hill, Cornersville, St. Andrews, Huntland, Flintville,  and   Blanche were some of those teams that Woodbury use to play. Use to always play Watertown also.

Look im not at all delusional.Dekalb is terrible absolutely terrible on there line both sides. Proved it again friday night. I make no excuses for Dekalb there line is terrible. But there happens to be some excellent skill players who were anywhere else would be even better than any player on upperman. You truly believe he woukd do the same thing if he was running behind Dekalbs line than your the one delusional. Cannon can never ever say there wasn't alot of home cooking friday night. Yes at the end of the night they wanted it more. But Dekalb was screwed all night by the refs. Antone at the game wouldn't argue that on either side

The Refs were pitiful for either side..but they were in no way the deciding factor of the game.

Ok so your saying the 2 fumbles In 3 plays in the 3rd which the scored from the drive had nothing to do with the outcome but you say I'm delusional. Anyone saying the game was called fare would be insane. I'm man enough to say than cannon wanted it more. By the way the kid who carried cannon was a former dekalb player who wasn't allowed to play in Dekalb anymore. Whommmm wonder how a kid isn't eligible in one county but is another.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
