Are you just picking games or are you wanting to participate in BGIM? Because, you left about 8 games off of the Friday selection of games. You picked 12 games and there are 20 games in BGIM for Friday.

Here are the top high school football games for the Memphis area for Week 5:

GAME OF THE WEEK

Houston (3-1, 1-0 7-6A) at Bartlett (3-1, 0-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Should the host Panthers want to make plans for the postseason, the Region 7-6A door is wide open. Bartlett came close to beating Houston the last two years, losing by a combined seven points. And keying exclusively on Mustang running backs Lincoln Pare and Chris Colebank just won’t do, as QB Ethan Burns threw three touchdown passes last week against Bolton. Bartlett needs big games from QB Preston Raines and linebacker Kyler Hartunian.

White Station (1-3) at Arlington (3-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

After losing at Christian Brothers in Week 3, White Station finally got its first win with a three-point victory over Hernando. QB Drew Lyons makes White Station go on offense. Tailback Kenny Walker has shined for Arlington. If the Spartans find a way to slow him down, Arlington QB Rhodes Carson has a good number of receiving options.

Cordova (3-1, 0-0 7-6A) at Collierville (2-2, 1-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The host Dragons lost their competitive edge when QB Mitch Austin had to leave last week’s game vs. Germantown with a left knee injury. Whoever lines up under center will have a senior-laden receiving corps, led by Justin Stonework. Cordova has the perfect aerial-attack answer with QB Austin Wiley and WR Falandis Norry.

Milan (2-2, 1-0 7-3A) at Covington (4-0, 1-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday

The host Chargers are averaging 9.5 yards every time they run the football — 137 carries for 1,301 yards and 23 TDs. QB Brock Lomax also has averaged 158 yards passing the last two weeks. Led by QB Taylor Lockhart, the Bulldogs got their first Region 7-3A victory with a 60-28 triumph over Westview in Week 3.

Clarksville Academy (2-1, 1-0 DII-A West) at Fayette Academy (3-0, 1-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Fayette Academy has averaged scoring 39.3 points. QB Rube Scott Rhea and RB Reid Holland are a good combo on the ground, but when it comes to airing it out, Rhea and WR Ryan Parks are just as dangerous. QB Bryce Robinson has committed to Austin Peay and headlines Clarksville Academy's offense.

September 07 2018 - St. George's Wes Smith, 11, runs off the field after a missed field goal attempt by Evangelical Christian School during Friday night's game.

St. George’s (2-2, DII-AA West) at Harding Academy (2-2)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Gryphon QB Spencer Smith will look to remain hot after throwing for 293 yards and three TDs in last week’s victory over previously unbeaten ECS. The host Lions will have to focus on containing Isaac Smith and Nick Seward if this one is decided through the air. Otherwise, Harding won’t be afraid to feed the speedy Tyler Moore on the ground.

Horn Lake (3-0) at Lake Cormorant (2-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Eagles demolished (Tulsa) Washington in Shreveport last weekend. Now, Horn Lake will have one more chance to ready itself for the most anticipated MHSAA Region 1-6A slate in recent memory. QB Raydarius Jones is a threat to score every time he touches the football, and the host Gators must recognize that. This is the third consecutive 6A opponent for Lake Cormorant.

South Panola (2-2) at MUS (3-0)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

The Tigers, from nearby Batesville, don’t schedule cupcakes, with games already against Mississippi traditional powers Clinton, Brandon and Clarksdale. The MUS dynamic defensive duo of Matthew Rhodes and Dorian Hopkins combined for 18 tackles in last week’s victory at MBA. The Owls, who also registered four sacks, will be successful if their offensive line gives QB Sellers Shy time to produce.

Whitehaven (3-1) at North Little Rock (2-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Tigers lost in overtime to an exceptional Lausanne team last week at Rhodes College. This week, Whitehaven heads to central Arkansas and a date with the Charging Wildcats, who are led by tight end and Memphis commitment Drew Martin (6-4, 225). Whitehaven must continue to lean on QB Vincent Guy, RB Cameron Sneed and its skilled defense to return home with the victory.

Germantown (4-0) at Southaven (1-2)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

It’s true, Southaven has already defeated Germantown, but its Week 3 victory came over the Mississippi version. Tennessee’s Germantown is full of talent, including arguably the area’s top passing and receiving unit of Ethan Payne and Cameron Baker. The Red Devils have outscored their opponents 184-43.
