Thanks man, I get it now, making positive comments about a struggling program is trolling.   Here ya go:

DB Blows!
Tribe = Terrible!
Indians to lose every game from here on out!

You're welcome...

It's like this blazer. If your fat and lazy, don't clean yourself up and just basically a slob you don't need somebody telling you everyday how awesome you look. You need someone to tell you the truth so you can fix yourself up a little.

on a side note, your description above is closer than your predictions have been all year.

Waco, not trolling but an honest question.  Is this the worse year in DB football history?  I have not been watching their record that long, but this is the worse I can remember.

This is the worst coached DB team in history. But this didn't happen just because of the new head coach. This has taken place over the last several years. A lot of people to blame. The previous head coach, the athletics director, the school board, that "so called" head coach search committee, and all the blue hair yes men that surround the program. All the people I just mentioned don't even realize there's a problem because their to busy patting each other on the back and basically sucking up to each other. From top to bottom this is the most incompetent group of people ever assembled in one city. But they do look smart and dignified when they get dressed up in their suit and ties to pose for pictures. This can't be fixed.

Yeah, I know what you're saying.     Seriously I'm just trying to keep things lightened up a little.    Of course you and others are totally right in that some major changes are needed but will never be made.

Pretty accurate assessment.  DB football has been dying for years.  It is officially dead now.  The nail in the coffin was the lie by the AD and the search group, and the subsequent head coach's inabilities. Just not worth watching.  So sorry for the kids on the team, and those walking the halls having chisen not to participate.  I hate being lied to.

The good ole boys need to take a lesson from Lafe Cook.  He's been building the feeder program and is headed for an attempt at top 5 in the nation.  But the coaches to stupid to pull it off.  Fire ALL the dang coaches and start over.  And start with the AD. Else we need to fire the BOE.  Clean house.

Well...you make ridiculous predictions (especially the Greeneville and Alcoa games) that have zero chance of happening, then you gloss over the loss and paint a pretty picture for the next game. I have no emotional ties to D-B, as I didn't go to school there or even in the state. I like to needle their fans a little, but it's in good fun. That said, I have a grandson who plays for Robinson, and the current state of affairs is pretty sad and I don't see it improving much anytime soon. Waco is correct that even if there is a complete house cleaning, it would take several years to change what has happened.

Any chance your grandson could attend that new Sullivan Co HS?    No idea what it will be like in terms of sports but it might be worth a look.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
