Fun game day fact: CPA and Lausanne have never played but Coach Locastro and Coach Martin have...

Locastro was coaching Christian Brothers and Ingle was leading an undefeated MBA in the 1999 championship game. Ingle was named MVP with 170 yards passing and 3 rushing TDs. MBA’s running back is also the current coach of ECS.

Didn’t realize Ingle was the QB of that squad, very interesting fact! Good luck tonight, BreadTruck. As I said in the other thread, I’m just hoping for a great injury free game that I hope the Lynx can pull out!

if you were reading a racing form, the track is fast sloppy definitely not muddy which means speed holds up for thoughbreds.  Went by to look today when picking up my daughter and field looks just a little dark meaning water in the ground but no mud anywhere.  Eric Gray advantage because speed wins on slop not a mudder. Kane has looked like a mudder all year, strange regression from when he was a FR. Noah Henderson will be very, very dangerous tonight. Best sprinter on a non-remarkable CPA track squad. CPA has 31 seniors who have been together for 4 years with no additions. Next truly good CPA team is 7th graders who are undefeated vs everyone inc BA and MBA.  2023 will be best CPA team ever.  Just saying as Booger would put it, that this CPA team has no recruited additions to the high school.  I have had a few conversations with CarltonFlatt who epitomized the start em  in the system approach and he thinks Ricky Bowers is the best coach TN has ever produced which is more relative to the LA job and how much Ricky is worth. Only related game point is that Ingle Martin has more Ricky in him than Spurrier.

I'm thinking it will be Lausanne winning based on what I saw when they played Whitehaven on stream. One thing I mentioned was CPA K is back and on target and probably good from 45 yards tonight, how good is Lausanne K?

Sam West is still dinged but Andrew Madden should do well tonight to keep the CPA ground game going. McCormick at TE is finally wholly healthy and really pumped.  Cold and heavy football, so CPA passing advantage probably equalized.  Blocking and tackling will be the key to winning.  CPA OL gettting better but DL is not and that is important because they gotta protect 4 (Kane) and McCormick (17) to make LB tackles on Eric Gray. CPA has Two good tacklers in seconday in S Sam Ellis and CP Payne Trapnall, the rest is iffy if Gray is to the second level quick.

Definitely a fair field to play the game from what I sat at 3 pm. Lausanne should squeeze by into cold Cookeville.  Looks like we traded Lausanne for our old nemesis Alcoa. Feels like that matchup to me and that means Lausanne would win 2 out of 3 times.

Congrats to you BT! Go get that ring! Every dad should have the opportunity to see their son win one.

Thanks man!  It was somewhat surreal seeing the time run off at the end with fog rolling in... A special embrace between father and son on the field. More work to do for sure... Looking forward to the next two weeks.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
