Proud of the Forrest Lady Rockets for  winning state championship today! 

Nothing against Columbia Academy but I hated to hear Summertown lost today. I've always liked summertown and they have always dominated in their batting even in middle school. But congrats to CA on their win.

Sequatchie had a good run after making it to the state for the first time in 5 years. May have had some nerves the first game against Lexington but that game would be tough regardless. Came back to beat Alcoa with Turner throwing for 18 strikeouts then gained an impressive win vs Jackson South Side. Final game, 3-0 loss to CW, had 7 hits but couldn’t get the RBIs. 

They should be back but teams in the way have good players returning. Turner had around 330 Ks, Edgmon 24 doubles, 11 triples, 50+ SB, close to .600, CF (fr) and C (so) both hit in the .500 range with sophomore C gaining 50 RBI, CF stealing 35 bases. Jr 2B hit and fielded well. Others also did well. SC had one senior starter, a middle of the pack batter in the regular season who hit well at state. 2 of top 3 hitters in average this week were freshmen (DH/UT and LF). They need to develop a bit more depth but overall the team should be strong and is a definite contender in ‘20.
