Hickman county will finally trounce Waverly this season because y’all were a senior heavy team last season. Plus we still have Rockezis Collins and he’s like a mini Derrick Henry

LMBO, Waverly will mash them. The only team between Waverly and Cookeville this season is that semifinal opponent named Peabody.

Lol that's close! How are the jackets looking?

I haven't got to see them. Have just heard some tidbits. We got humbled pretty good last week at Marshall County. We're scrimmaging Columbia Academy Frida at home. I plan on watching that. I'll let you know afterwards. Got alot of talent but also alot of young guys stepping into critical roles. I think we'll be competitive with everyone we're slated to play but wouldn't be surprised to take some lumps. Especially early on in the season. Always exciting to watch these teams build chemistry every year.

Good luck to you guys. I really think alot of folks are going to be surprised to see you didnt fall off. We all know you lost some exceptional talent but you also return very key positions. Enough cant be said about that but it rarely is. You guys always got plenty of quality skill guys to play the positions. Having the leadership and skill in the trenches is way more important IMO.

I to was impressed with our efforts yesterday although I know Wayne Co lost their coach and alot of Seniors from last year. Croppy was there and I was hoping to get his take on the scrimmage.

Yea that what I was telling Billy at the scrimmage. That #16 for Wayne county is a baller! The kid can play.

I wouldn't expect anything less.

At this point I think we may be the underdog. At the line of scrimmage anyway. We'll see. We start out against 5a Page. Huge test.

Yes a real good test and I also think it will make y’all better. I think those Fairview, Huntingdon, Davidson Academy games we had last yr is what made us get better.  I will be rooting for y’all this yr.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
