Football is upon us. It's time to see what the off-season has produced.

Here are this week’s games. Let's hear your predictions.

Wk.1 - Class 5A - Region 7 

   Henry County @ Haywood

   Clarksville vs. Rossview

   Northeast @ Riverdale

   Northwest vs. Hunters Lane

   Kenwood vs. Hopkinsville

   West Creek vs. Greenbrier 

   Dyer County vs. Crockett County

I dont know much about some of the other teams but I will give my predictions on the ones I feel confident about winning...

Henry County

Clarksville

Clarksville NE

Crockett County

Taking the following:

Henry Co.  Just because

Clarksville.....Rossview looked horrible in jambore could NOT tackle.  CHS by 35+

Riverdale...Think NE lost too much from last year and is rebuilding this year unfortunately.

Northwest...Looked good in the jamboree except they were playing Rossview

Hopkinsville...haven't seen much of either team here just going off of past circumstances

Greenbrier...Not many players on WC....either quit or not out playing. Could changes be coming?????

Because I don't know anything about these two teams I will go with Crockett Co. because of the others picking.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
