I'm old and senile, so please forgive me. However, whoever made the post seems to have been spot on. I haven't seen you on here in a long time. It's nice to see you back. No worries. Just wanted to clarify. I remember that season, I was a sophomore. The team went 10-0 and beat Milan in Milan. At that time, we had a big senior class and athletes across the field and a big o line. As well as the Walden brothers. Everyone was involved and excited following the season and without past seasons to compare to nobodyreally new how good we were. I wonder how that SGC team would do against the current ones. I new with how well coached the team was and disciplined the staff had the players they would be a competitive team even in the down years. Senior year SGC went 2-8, but was still a tough win. I don't thing I would still say they are a powerhouse, but still a good football program with things to be excited about. Well done, sir. Thanks. I feel for South Gibson. I know this game had to hurt, but the Hornets are going to be okay. Several of us had said all week that this game was going to be a toss-up, and it was. It could have easily gone either way. I like your earlier post about the game as well. One friend of mine that laughed in my face when I told him SGC could beat Haywood. " you need to take your orange tented glasses off ". If the tomcats clean up the yellow garment problem they will be smoking good. Edited September 28, 2019 by ManOfMillions

You're absolutely right about the yellow garment problem. It has been a problem for Haywood for years, and it has caused them to lose games. I'm confident that this year's coaching staff will get that under control.

It sure was a good one. I was freelancing last night covering another 3A school. I'm not in West TN anymore, but still check in on SGC when I can
reddyrebel6
Some of that yellow flag problem last night seemed to be on the zebras. A few phantom calls but it’s all good.

Haywood did a masterful job at beating SGC in the kicking game. I have never seen SGC exploited like they were Friday night in that aspect. I really think it would would have made a big difference in the game if SGC did not give Haywood a short field so many times.

My thinking would have been to onside kick every time after a score. Either way, Haywood was starting at midfield. They got the one they did onside. They tried squibbing, pooch and deep kicking and none worked. Haywood has great returners all over the field.
