Eagles make the long and arduous 15 min drive down Hwy 41 to play the Vikings this week. We have somewhat struggled the past two years against them yet still got the win. In the 2017 game we won it 34-22, but I'm not convinced we would have won had there been another 5 mins on the clock. They made a huge comeback in the second half. Last year was a grind it out 35-30 win. I have no doubt we have the ability to win this week, and most people will expect us to, as do I, but has anyone actually seen them play this year? I know they're 1-3 and their win was Cornersville, but that's all I know.

They have big backs(number 1 and 34 I believe both at or over 200) and pretty much run the same plays. My son should have had four interceptions in the game but only came away with two. He is still kicking himself over the other two. They played Moore county pretty well into the 4th quarter and then went crazy is what I heard.

I saw the Moore County game and Community played well for 3 quarters. They are just missing some big fellas up front that you need to be successful I think. They have some but just not enough it looked like. They played hard and competed and that is all you can ask from what I saw. I didn't see the last 2 games and don't know much about Eagleville but I am sure they have some solid guys and well coached. Hopefully the weather will be under 90 for this one. :thumb:

      Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.

      What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.

      Athletics is just a piece. It can help them academically, socially and add confidence. I was still 17 when I finished my first quarter at UT. I was the last to get my driver's license. It's not always just for athletics.
