Eagleville at Forrest | Round 2

Forrest self inflicted this to remain a close game thru the first couple possessions in the 3rd. They have a lot to clean up. They know what.

Other than that Eagleville's offense had no chance to do anything the entire night. Eagleville's D did well for a bit, I liked what Eli did, he managed his backs well so #6 could do his usual 4th quarter steamroll. Feeding him 30 times is the only way to win any more games. He seemed to gain power and speed as the game went on.

People will downplay Eagleville, because every time Forrest wins we have to bismirch their opponent. But Eaglevile had some talented athletes, are very well coached, make adjustments thruout, and are unpredictable.

Forrest earned this one. Couldve been a couple of additional scores, and Eagleville's lone TD, while clever, was a fringe, 4-leaf-clover type play.

Forrest 300+ yards, Eagleville, just over 100.

If McClendon isn't announced as a finalist it will be an outrage of the 1972 Olympics level.

The future is bright for the Eagles. They will only be losing 4 starters, and there’s 8th graders moving up from the undefeated middle school team. This was a pretty major rebuild year and to go 7-3 in the regular season and to week 2 of the playoffs is better than what many probably expected, especially when you consider the amount of injuries we had. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into the season, but when we ground out an OT win against a good Huntland team in week one, it became apparent that we could be competitive. There’s no reason not to think they won’t be just as competitive in 2020.

I agree. They exceeded expectations this season for sure.

Eagleville definitely exceeded expectations for 2019. Coaches and players are solid. I have heard your 8th grade class is special. How do enrollment numbers look and what are your chances to move down to 1A at next reclassification?

Good recap.

Eagleville was a tough out. Some of these seniors have been playing against each other since kindergarten.

The Good: Forrest O Line struggled early but took over the game in the 2nd half. Forrest defense was Forrest defense. They gave up 1 offensive TD to Eagleville in 8 quarters and that was on a DB falling down. #6 running wild. It appeared Eagleville tried to take away #6 in the first matchup and 3 and 14 burned them. In Round 2 EHS was much tougher on the edge and #6 had a career day.

The Bad: Penalties again Too many.

Special teams. Extra points shouldn't be an adventure in week 13. This should have been fixed in the preseason. Work on some creative 2 point plays. Poor punt execution led to their only score. Onside kick led to only score last week.

Current enrollment is 403, so it looks like we'll stay in 2A as long as the cut off for 1A stays at 375.
