GhostLight1978
First time poster, long time member. What's the word out of Chapel Hill this year? Are the Rockets up to repeat as Region 5 champs? How many starters are returning from last years team? Heard rumblings of coaching changes. Any truth to that? @Salem @GeneralForrest Edited July 29, 2020 by GhostLight1978
RocketHouse
Doubt they win the region this year. Only 2-3 starters return on both sides of the ball. One assistant coach left. I think the new guy is in place. Over/ under for wins this season is 5.
GhostLight1978
According to Murphy Fair LC and Eagleville are the teams to beat. Which coach left?
vandyfan1
I’m thinking Summertown might win this Region. Followed by Eville, Lewis, Forrest.

GhostLight1978
@Salem That's a shame! He was young with lots of energy! Hope the new dc fits the mold!
GeneralForrest
Still some good players and all-region talent in a few spots. Others will step up, but it will be a drop off from last year. Eagleville is a tossup. I figure they will lose by a couple scores to Lewis. They could squeak into the playoffs in the 2 spot but will need some luck. We will know pretty quick how they will do, Can they stop people and run the ball. Summertown lost a lot and are beatable. Worst case Forrest finishes 4th like VF said. DC last year benefited highly from the talent. He escaped right before the lights got a little too hot.
GeneralForrest
I'll take the over on wins unless they get injuries early and just fall apart. Wins Community Cascade Loretto ER Lawrence Tossups Summertown Eagleville Moore Co Losses Lewis Portland Edited July 31, 2020 by GeneralForrest

If they lose it they can easily start off 0-4 According to every scouting service in the nation we have a 6’3” 190 pound 4 star athlete who runs a 4.38 who has offers from every major D1 school in the country coming to Chapel Hill in game 1. I don't think a returning player had a single catch last year though. Running backs are a question mark. Best back up last year was a freshman. Hard to say with no JV season in 2019, no spring scrimmage, and no preseason scrimmage/practices. Some younger brothers of some good players coming up but lots of unknowns.
