CHARGERFAN
Congratulations to SGC on the win. When y'all were driving in the last couple of minutes, I was expecting our D to stifle the threat like we did on that same end of the field in the playoffs last year. However, your guys overcame that holding penalty to score late. Good job. Jalen Fayne played a great game. You would never know that he was an emergency QB who had never played that position before. And, the offensive sets that we were running tonight were different than anything I had seen all year. Great job by Coach Kirby and staff to improvise and nearly come away with the win with Marcus Hayes obviously not 100% and a new QB.

I was going to ask you what was going on with Hayes. Last year we called his name at least 20 times. Tonight only 7 or 8 times. Is he a little banged up? fanoffootball2013
Maybe Covington will still run Fayne some at QB in the future or do we go back to the same same offense? I would maybe like to see a mixture. Dowell played big for us tonight too!

It's sad to see players on crutches on the sideline. But, injuries are part of football and Covington just has to adjust and keep playing. With Shelby County not playing, our game next week with Shefield is cancelled. Another off week before we finish the season with McNairy is welcome to heal some folks. I'm looking back at this season. If the projected 7-3A for 2021 comes to pass, Covington will be in with Milan, Bolivar, Ripley, Haywood and Dyersburg. That sounds very tough until I realize that we have played all of those already this year except for Dyersburg. I seriously doubt that Dyersburg will present a challenge any tougher than SGC has given us the last couple of years. Substituting Dyersburg into our schedule next year probably doesn't increase the degree of difficulty for us at all.

They are really young. Only 6 seniors. So they will bring back a lot next year. They will be tough.

I knew that both of them were injured in the game. I did not know how bad either was. I hope the young man heals up good and comes back strong next season.
