Thought about it and will have to root for WC, Ms. Mondo is a 1979 graduate of WC and was a first year teacher at WC in the fall of 1983.  Bobby Newby was a great coach and Nunley Stadium was packed every home game.  One of the unique things they sold in the concession stand was hot Dr Pepper.

I graduated in 1984 and may have had your wife as a teacher or may have known her. The 1983 football season was the last playoff win for Warren County.  37 long years ago, we went to the quarterfinals with a talented team and great coach.  Yes, Nunley Stadium was packed and provided a great atmosphere and hot Dr. Pepper was a concession stand staple.  The '83 teams quarterfinal run was 3 years after the semifinal run. WC expected to win football games back then and demanded respect.  This years team may be more hungry for a playoff win, because they have heard all their lives about how long it has been. Plus, the Pioneer coaches have conveyed that very well to them. Good luck tonight Pioneers, we know your prepared and we will root you on just like we have for the last 37 years!

    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
