There is 6 guys with a legitimate chance win it this year. It is going to come down to whomever can put together the best run next Thursday.

Probably the best match I watched at that tournament. Wells was aggressor and had multiple chaces to win in regulation and SV. I allso watched Fisher vs. Billingsly at State Duals and it wasn't near the match. I think that Wells is in the best shape and the best wrestler of the 3. I disagree with Taylor, there are only 3 wrestlers that have a shot at 220. I do think it is the most intriguing weight in the tournament. Good luck to Alex and Emory * At least SEVEN high level Division I athletes (wrestling and football). I'm sure I didn't get them all but this is something fun to watch. If an athlete wonders what it takes to be a DI athlete, watch the kids listed above because they ALL did it through hard work and dedication. greendoor
Super athletic. Very physical, but it's called the outstanding wrestler award. A one-time champ in the weakest weight class? Maybe if there weren't guys like Whitworth, Taylor, Harper, Dendy, Roller, Corday. I will give him the Outstanding Athlete Award.

Snodgrass Is very inconsistent but he has wrestled a ton of big time matches and if he is on then he could run the table. The same with Connor Billingsley. I think the wild card is Carson Gentle. He probably isn’t strong enough to win it and Fisher caught him early at the East Region but the kid is very skilled and a threat to beat anyone in this bracket. Fisher and Wells are the favorites but it won’t surprise me if Boruff, Snodgrass, Billingsley, or Gentle ended up at the top of the podium when the night is over.

Depends on what the award means: Best Career: Whitworth/Taylor - it should be based on this but it’s not Best Season: Petersen - not even close Best Tournament: whoever dominates their bracket - will be Petersen

At one point it was the wrestler that dominated his weight classification or a wrestler that finished 4th in his region and went on a tear at the state tournament and defeated a defending state champ in the semi-finals and a state runner-up in the championship finals. More recently it has been awarded to the kid with the best overall career.
