Waverly’s Jr High game was canceled against the Mud dawgs from Hickman. Players and fans were already at the field and warmed up. I pulled in from a long days work and was going to watch the wildcats whoop up on those puppies but all of a sudden the game was called off due to no refs!

Anybody else having this issue? I heard a commercial on the radio not to long ago about Tennessee being short staffed this year with TSSAA refs.

I just might apply LOL

Can’t be true, can it? On a Thursday night, I’m sure there were some officials that were able to officiate that game. Did Waverly informed them about a game tonight? If so, I can’t imagine the head guy (or whatever they call it) for y’all association, not informed Waverly about lack of officials. I would imagine Waverly would be informed about it hours beforehand, and not minutes. That’s how I see it.

I actually done an article on this 2-3 years ago. Pretty much in every high school sport referees are a dying breed. Younger guys trying to do their part can’t handle the criticism that comes with it whether it b from coaches or the biggest part, fans and parents. Just the generation we live in now. But still u would think the administration of this game would’ve known if their wasn’t officials able to call the game

Speaking of refs.. For the record.. WHOEVER the refs are, and whenever they do officiate at whatever contest it is, if/when they show up, THE DRESDEN LIONS (& LADY LIONS) sports teams, school, town, cheerleaders, fan base, etc., ALL of us ‘round here luv Luv LUV ALL REFS! I mean, THEY ARE AAWESOME! It’s almost idolatry & hero-worship the way we feel about them. The few bad apples in the stands who may be negative (which sadly are everywhere! & are probably the other side’s implanted provocateurs anyways when it comes to us), they don’t count. The LIONS & LIONESSES LOVE REFS! Just sayin’.. for the record! Ok? (No doubt your teams & towns feel the same way, right?) <<this public service announcement is now over.

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
