I agree that going under center could be beneficial for this team. What we have ran the past two weeks is fairly similar to the wing T and It could allow for more misdirection if we went to under center.

I am just worried about how that would limit our RPO game.

I also meant to add that it is very difficult to run the wing T when you don’t have any wings. They struggled to block all night. This team is young and doesn’t have the skill to run the spread or the line to run the wing T.

It could be a long long year.

It would limit the rpo but cousino is good enough to keep teams honest, y’all’s defense is good enough imo to win the region

Well…. That was ugly. The good… Coach Hackett still knows how to coach defense. The Bad… Coach Webster still can’t coach offense. I think I’m going to call Webster’s offense the Joe Biden offense, for reasons that at this point and time might seem “too soon”. But he is about as innovative as a corn flake.

There were a couple of moments were they seemed very low energy (a trade mark of the Joe Biden offense), heck even the band was playing slow, but for the most part the effort seemed solid. Solid effort+poor scheme=what we saw last night.

Unless something drastically changes this team will be lucky to win three games this year. I’ll still be cheering them on. This town produces some outstanding young men, that alone makes them easy to cheer for. That being said we just don’t have the athletes we’ve had in recent memory. And unless Webster has a full house, he has no idea how to win with a pair of jacks.

I disagree with the post but when you score 9 points you are going to take this type of criticism. I just don’t think Webster deserves the disrespect in that post.

Defense was outstanding and the offense needs some work. It’s a completely new roster offensively besides Cousino and It’s a completely new scheme.

I don’t see this team being able to find many points this year. Even if the scheme was perfect this team doesn’t have anyone stepping up right now to execute it.

This team reminds me of the 17’ team that started off 1-2. The difference in that season was that Heath price stepped up and we managed a 9-3 record. Obviously this team doesn’t have Heath Price but I foresee this team having a similar year if someone can rise to the occasion.

Hope you’re right and someone steps up!

It will never happen… Coach Webster was one of the first coaches to implement the spread offense in 1A/2A and my bet is that he will ride it out.

With that being said, they have to find some way to loosen the defense up with passing.

I know their line is struggling, but was curious why we didn’t try more quick slants last night?

I’m not going to beat on Webster here, but he has got to find a way to keep Cousino healthy and running him every other play isn’t going to work.

When don't have the players to run the spread you have to adapt to what you have. They need to run the Wing T, more misdirection with 4 backs in the backfield.  The single set back just isn't going to work.

He refuses to throw the ball to Watts, I think they threw to him twice last night. Rest went to Seay kid, and decent DC can figure that out and double him. There was one play late in the fourth where watts was alone out wide, the DB and CB were in the middle of the field talking, Watertown snapped the ball and QB kept it, no a single coach seen the busted coverage and it was on Watertown side of the field.

Just being truthful some of the wr could not catch a cold! And some passes were off target but he running for his life. The senior leadership has been disappointing to say the least.
