Hendersonville-South Warren KY

Hville rallies from a first half deficit to defeat #2  ranked in 5A South Warren KY in Bowling Green last night 27-20.  Ellis Ellis had 3 total TD’s and Luke Manning had the game winning 30 yd run with 2 minutes to go.  Torin Baker sealed it with an interception in the end zone with 30 seconds to go.  Major cramping issues for both teams with numerous play stoppages in the 4th quarter.  After trailing 13-7 early in the first half the defense played much better the remainder of the game.  On to face the Bucs this week!

High school football in KY is a little different.  Home crowd maybe 500 people mostly students.  We brought close to that (1 hour drive).  2 of the teams we scrimmaged would beat them.  (MJ and Blackman).  Listened to their post game show with their head coach, he was very complimentary and had told his players all week that 6-A football in Tennessee was better than what they were used to seeing.  They ran the typical spread 4 wide receivers set.  Had a 6-5 QB who has signed with WKU.  First 2 drives he carved us up.  Coaching staff then made the decision to come after him and that worked.  They ended up with 205 yds offense (we had 350).  Good win but the competition gets tougher with Beech and Gallatin coming up.

Nice job Hendersonville. KY HSFB on the whole is definitely a step down

1 more thing to mention. Officials were excellent and the South Warren people were also. Was a little nervous about the officials in that Blackman got hosed at Bowling Green several years ago. Head referee must have had a date after the game, he was winding that clock as soon as the ball was set down. All in all good trip.

When Oakland played at Christian Co., it was a pretty clean game. Shad probably thought that was as bad as it could get for him.......

As you know we all have to stay healthy. Proud Alexander and Micah are going to play together at Bethel. They were really fun to watch at the All Star game in Murfreesboro. They have real good chemistry together on the floor.
    • Baxter will do what they most always do.....at a minimum produce at least 9 Ws and run into at least the 2nd round.....Booger actually enjoyed seein them in the Gold Ball contest last season.... Booger just sayin
