Halls vs Knox West

I read that was their first game without the star safety right?  I'm sure that contributed to the struggle last weekend.  I can't image that the rearranged secondary wont be more well-drilled this weekend.

But offensively they are scoring points.  That side of the ball doesn't seem to be an issue right now.  

You're right but for how much longer can the backs at West keep up the workload they are carrying right now. When we get into the dog days and they are playing Alcoa and Maryville those backs will get banged up. All I'm saying is there are chinks in West's armor and losing Blair will hurt them down the stretch.

Also, I looked up the passing stats because I wondered.  9-12 for 207 yards against Farragut.  And that's not 1/4 of their plays. i'm inclined to believe they can complete a few more if they need to.

So Halls doesn't have any banged up backs after 2 games, too?

Against an average Farragut team which is like the top of West's own 5A classification. It would have been more convincing had they beat Farragut in the same style they did Bearden.

My friends that are in the Knoxville coaching community tell me that West is an athletic team that will struggle down the stretch. They've got some depth at running back but what about the other positions?

That's a good point and that's probably how it will sort out but is it totally out of the realm of possibility that as West play the rest of their backloaded schedule that some of the warning signs that you have mentioned come back to haunt them?

No offense intended,  but you aren't the only one with "friends" in the Knoxville coaching community.  

And believe it or not, some actually do see the teams live and have some knowledge about football in this area, also.

No offense taken. I just don't buy into the hype of West. I'm basing all of this on how they compare to Powell. Who in my mind is the team to beat in 5A. It may not be an apples to apples comparison but it seems like Powell is a lot more well rounded.
