I am sure there are some defensive/ST scores in there just like with any team. Just the only readily available statistic for high school football.

This is coming from a West fan, and I'm not saying this because I'm nervous about the game this week, @madhatter2269 you mentioned Heritage, Cocke Co,Hardin Valley, and TN High but Central has averaged scoring 10-12 more points than the all of their opponents' defenses average giving up per game. Their game with us was a total outlier. To say they say they don't have a powerful offense is ridiculous, they're in the quarterfinals for a reason. It's not the worst that offense has looked since 2016 because statistically it's better in every way. Your missing the point here. The facts are the above teams mentioned have a combined record of 5-35 on the year. Against those teams, Central has averaged 51.7 pts per game. That average drops down significantly to 26 pts per game over the next 7 games vs much steeper competition and in their losses have averaged 15 pts. Am I saying they have a “bad” offense? No, but the facts are they can’t score in BIG games. Ironically the same thing was the issue LAST year. And just for the record, I have no “personal” feelings towards anyone. I support those kids and hope they win it all. Some of the adults there…well that’s a LONG story.

Well if we are simplifying this down to, "what he did at central he'd automatically do at Bearden" (dumb imo) then that would be a 2 touchdown improvement over Bearden avg ppg against winning teams (10 ppg)

It helps Central has a QB, Bearden hasn't had one since Ironside left.
