The only way Alcoa can compete with Maryville every year is because the talent is equal. Alcoa has the talent to win the 6A championship game. Got nothing to do with number of players on team. You seriously think all those big numbers of players can play or will ever.

Alcoa rotates 2 deep at each position. It is key to their success.  Plus, special teams, 45-50 players will play in tight games. In blow out games, every player plays. You have to develop players for the future.
