This region is Forrest's to lose. Every team but Summertown was very young last year.

Way to early prediction:

1. Forrest: they have the best group of athletes returning from a quarterfinal team but can they adjust and utilize those athletes or sit in the under center wing-t and keep on doing what they have been doing (which has won them quite a few games). They also had one of the best middle school teams around last year.

2. Cascade: Graduated their QB who was a one man show at times last year. Who replaces him? They have the size to push people around but didn't see much speed from them.

3. Mt. Pleasant: Very young team last year that had the players to compete with anyone in the region but can they put it all together and play complete games.

4. Summertown: Graduated a ton but you cannot ever count out Summertown in any sport. Those kids are competitors and hate to lose at anything.

5. Richland: They have a lot of players and some decent athletes but have to get out of their own way.

6. Loretto: Basketball and Baseball school that doesn't take football as serious. If they can get some of those athletes out from other sports they could compete for the 4th slot like they did last year.

Cascade was an overhyped joke last year. Yet many on here were predicting them to win the region until the last 2 weeks of the season. No reason to suspect they will metamorphosize this year. They will still be poorly coached, undisciplined, and they might beat a team or two they aren't supposed to, but even Eli can take this bunch.

I can’t imagine Forrest  changing their offense —especially considering they will have a 5‘6“ running back playing quarterback or a freshman, they might not have a pass completion all season…

Dixon, maybe Cascade’s best athlete, is the  likely quarterback and the new RB is 200lbs

Mount pleasant was mostly juniors last season so I don’t expect much improvement

Summertown has speed and that MLB/RB is a monster

Richland has the best QB in the Region

Loretto unlikely to do much

Forrest is the most disciplined and athletic team it the region. Whatever step or steps back they take due to Eli not knowing his *** from a hole in the ground shouldn't impact their ability to win this really bad region.

Eli sent a blocker directly at Cascade’s top tackler all night long so he deserves at least a little credit for having a game plan

Cascade was undefeated with their full roster-pretty depleted by the Forrest game. The defense should be there but the offense is a question mark—good line, good receivers-play calling could improve!

This region is not very strong compared to others in the state and on any given Friday any team can win because no team is a world beater but this is Forrest's region to lose unless they have a mass exodus of players.

Forrest could've named their score. And Forrest was not a good team. Cascade was awful and i was the only one saying it all season,

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
