  1. If it's true and I'm getting correct information it's an alumni that was playing back when I was living in the area and coming to games every Friday night. If it all works out I will definitely be making some trips to The Stable this upcoming season.
  2. Hearing some big things out of the potential hire at Cascade.
  3. @tubthumper tell us what you know!!!
  4. Noticed the job has been taken down of the TSSAA job board. Any news down in Bell Buckle on when interviews start or who is on their radar?
  5. You East Robertson gentlemen do realize you can argue about who knows who and why they can't or can win a state championship over on the 2A Region 3 thread don't you? We have gotten 3 pages of absolute non-sense from you guys from the same fan base arguing about the East Robertson Indians. I have a better idea just start an East Robertson Thread and go at it for the next 7 months!
  6. When it comes to the TSSAA and regions who knows but this is my stab at it! I could totally be wrong and it's hard to decipher what TSSAA will do when splitting up the state. East to West or North to South? There is a lot of travel in some of these regions but how the state and 2A teams are spread out in some areas it is what it is. East 26 Schools Region 1: Hampton, Happy Valley, South Greene, West Greene, Eagleton, Cumberland Gap, Oneida, and Wartburg *Region 1 has a lot of travel and is the biggest region with 8 teams. Region 2: Jackson County, Smith County, Monterey, York, Trousdale, Westmoreland, and East Robertson Region 3: Tellico Plains, Polk, Bledsoe, Marion, and Fayetteville *Region 3 is the trickiest region to predict because of the distance between the schools and lack of 2A schools close to each other. Also, the smallest region in the state with only 5 teams so someone from another region could potentially move here. Region 4: Cascade, Forrest, Harpeth, East Hickman, Cannon, and Hickman County West 25 Schools Region 5: Summertown, Loretto, Lewis, Riverside, Adamsville, and Mt. Pleasant Region 6: Camden, Huntingdon, JCM, Milan, Gipson, Waverly, and Peabody *Hands down the toughest region in the state and the West representative will come from this region most if not all years. Region 7 and 8: Memphis Schools
  7. I know your hatred for Cascade runs deep General and you would pick any team they play to beat them but I don't think Loretto will score 42 in this game. The shutout streak for Cascade's defense will end tonight but they will pull out a 35-21 win.
  8. Forrest pulls it out 28-10 tonight better program and kids know how to win even though it's been a tough year. If you have have kids missing in the middle of the best season you have had in 10+ years to go the beach there isn't much else to say about Richland. Even with the season they are having in Chapel Hill their kids wouldn't miss during fall break if a game was scheduled. This is difference between a football school and one who would like to be one.
  9. Spill the beans man! At least tell us what this mystery team did to cause them to have to forfeit some games.
  10. I agree but geographically it makes sense. Not many 3A teams in that area.
  11. I believe Cannon County will choose to play up and remain 3A they have a better shot at making the playoffs in 3A. They would be the 5th or 6th team in either of the 2A regions they could be put in. Giles County could also choose to play up in 4A. Their travel would be less and play traditional rivals avoid Alcoa as well. 3A Region 4 if Cannon moves up. Cannon County- Move up from 2A and stay 3A Cascade- Moving up from 2A Community- Staying 3A Giles- With some of the other teams in 4A moving to 5A they could possibly move up for travel reasons and avoid Alcoa. Grundy- Staying 3A Watertown- Moving up from 2A
  12. If they get up 21 I would assume he would come out of the game being a non-region game. May come out of the game after the first half regardless.
  13. Moore County should win this game going away. Loretto is much improved from last year but Moore has to many athletes and the X-factor in White. 42-21 Moore with White running for 200 and throwing for 200!!
  14. Well I thought this was going to be a pick ‘em game and made the drive over to Chapel Hill to catch it. Cascade looked like a team on a mission and Forrest looked like they were just there because it was Friday in the fall. Cascade owned the game in all phases Friday. Forrest looked stale on offense same 3 plays and punt or turn it over and defensively never made any adjustments to anything Cascade was doing. I do believe Forrest thought they could just do what they usually do and bully Cascade like they have in the past. They seemed unprepared, confused, and scared to get hit Friday. On the flip side Cascade was prepared for anything that was thrown at them and was the aggressor from the first whistle. Interesting to see for sure and was not expecting the outcome to be like that. Those programs are definitely going in different directions this year and possibly the future. I will say it’s the first time I have seen either team live this year and Cascade looked like some of the teams they had in the early to mid 2000’s explosive on offense and played shutdown defense. It will be interesting to see what their trajectories are for the rest of the season. Can Forrest get it together and get to the playoffs or will they lay down the rest of the season? Also, can Cascade use this dominant blowout to win out and make a run?
  15. Have there been any word on enrollment numbers for each school in Region 5 or when they will be released?
  16. First off, it is going to be fun reading Salem/General and CascadeHomer going at it this year. I got a chance to watch the 7 on 7 at Shelbyville Central yesterday. Cascade and Forrest both looked like they have spent a good deal of time in the weight room and got after each other pretty good in their match-up. Neither one of these teams are going to ever do well in these passing leagues because of the offenses they run. From a physical standpoint they both stood out to me and would probably beat most teams there in the running department because if their ol/dl are as big as their skill players they will be able to run the ball very well. Mt. Pleasant had the best looking group of pure athletes there but the jury is still out on them when you strap the pads on and play physical smash mouth football. I think those were the only Region 5 teams there. *Also, these passing leagues mean nothing Community one of the bottom 10 teams in the state went something like 5-1 yesterday and couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie during the season. My picks for the region this year are this: 1. Forrest: they are the reigning champions and will stay on top until someone can knock them off. Return a majority of their team from last year and play hard. 2. Cascade: Can they ever get over the hump and play 4 quarters with Forrest. They had a good looking group of kids there yesterday but what do they look like up front? 3. Mt. Pleasant: Always have the best looking kids in the region but can they ever play a full game of football. 4. Summertown: The Rick Rice factor will help them out but they lost a ton last year and it will take him a year or two to get them playing his style of football. 5. Richland: Lost some key players and are not consistent enough to compete for an entire year. 6. Loretto: they play really good winter and spring sports but football is not something they value and I do not see that changing.
  17. This region is not very strong compared to others in the state and on any given Friday any team can win because no team is a world beater but this is Forrest's region to lose unless they have a mass exodus of players.
  18. They have the players to be a 6-4/7-3 team but I do not see them dethroning H2O and TC for the region anytime soon.
  19. This region is Forrest's to lose. Every team but Summertown was very young last year. Way to early prediction: 1. Forrest: they have the best group of athletes returning from a quarterfinal team but can they adjust and utilize those athletes or sit in the under center wing-t and keep on doing what they have been doing (which has won them quite a few games). They also had one of the best middle school teams around last year. 2. Cascade: Graduated their QB who was a one man show at times last year. Who replaces him? They have the size to push people around but didn't see much speed from them. 3. Mt. Pleasant: Very young team last year that had the players to compete with anyone in the region but can they put it all together and play complete games. 4. Summertown: Graduated a ton but you cannot ever count out Summertown in any sport. Those kids are competitors and hate to lose at anything. 5. Richland: They have a lot of players and some decent athletes but have to get out of their own way. 6. Loretto: Basketball and Baseball school that doesn't take football as serious. If they can get some of those athletes out from other sports they could compete for the 4th slot like they did last year.
  20. This is a pretty evenly matched game. Cascade has an advantage in the pass game but their QB is also a threat to run the ball at anytime. Defensively Cascade is pretty stingy but let the big play hurt them to often. Lewis County has tradition and also in the past have run the Wing-T as good as anyone in the state but do not throw the ball very well. The Carroll kid from Lewis is a ball player and can change the game on any run just as the Inmon kid can at Cascade. This will not be a high scoring affair and could go either way. Hard to pick a winner and should be the closest game in the first round from R5-R6 pairings.
  21. Forrest really spreads it out and all the backs are really good with the ball in their hands. Cascade is the only one without any stats posted here and I looked it up from their local paper. Ryan Inmon: Passing 21-50 428 yards 3 TD 4 INT Rushing 124 Carries 809 yards 9 TD Xamarion Dixon: 66 Carries 285 2 TD Connor Huie: 51 Carries 255 5 TD
  22. I agree with you Salem, they don't burn out any lights on scoreboards with offense in this region but for the most part every team has a decent defense. Every team is going to have to score more points to win when it comes to playoff time or each team will get bounced early.
  23. I think the cream has rose to the top with Forrest and Cascade in the region. Forrest has been impressive the last couple weeks and Cascade has won but have been pushed. The match up in two weeks should be a great one and a great atmosphere. Mid season rankings: 1. Forrest 2. Cascade 3. Mt. Pleseant 4. Summertown 5. Loretto 6. Richland hope the second half of the season has been as fun as the first half.
  24. That is a terrible pick IMO. There is no way Summertown wins or scores 3 TDS against Forrest. If Forrest can get any production out of the offense they win by 2 or 3 scores. Mt. Pleasant will win big if they are healthy 28-7. To many good football players on that team to not out athlete Loretto. Cascade should be more physical than Richland and I do not see them stopping the Inmon kid that has been playing lights out. Cascade should take the win by a couple scores.
  25. That should be a dandy of a game. Both teams always play each other hard and they both play the same style of football. The fans will definitely get to see a show!
