Is he still teaching at NS? Do you know?

Yes, he is still teaching. Will he be there after this year probably not. Coach Hookfin is in a similar situation. Tho he didn’t resign due to those types of things. He resigned for the school to go in a different direction over in Arkansas. He’s not just apart of administration and not coaching

WTH...they're not even remotely the same type situations.

Head coaches don't resign the week of the first varsity game of the season.

As trash as Urban Meyer is...he still didn't leave before the first game in Jacksonville.

Something happened, we'll never find out on here.

Hopefully both parties (NS & Powell) can learn and grow from whatever it was.

I dont know anything about why, but NSHS lost a good coach. That's fact.

Parents these days won't allow their kids to be coached. Any attempt to do so is considered "Talking Reckless to their kids." Then when they lose, the coach is an idiot and "predictable."

I said what I said.

You can’t lie though, they weren’t getting better.. it was 5-5, 6-6 or 6-5 first round and done..

He's not a good coach. However, prove me wrong.

Still no different it was no reason why with the athletes he had the last two years they shouldn’t have won 9+ games. They under achieved under powell

I’ll agree with you on this last year the size they had, and the QB they had was good with his feet and throwing the ball, they had great talent last year but coach powell wasn’t the answer they needed, there’s a reason he wasn’t nothing ever big on the football field in Crockett.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
