Munford @ Dyersburg week 4

This will be an interesting matchup. Munford came to Covington in week 1 and put a whipping on my Chargers 28-7. Now they get to visit the Trojans.

I have seen griping about Dyersburg’s schedule on here, but I’ll tell you true, this Munford team is for real. Their QB (Bell) and their running back (Sharp) were too good for us, then throw in their speedy wide receiver who transferred in from Memphis White Station, and they are a very good 5A team. Dyersburg is stepping up in strength of schedule versus the Cougars.

I expect Munford to take home the win and go 4-0 this week. What do y’all think?

Munford is definitely better than they usually are. Those new recruits they picked up have really made a difference. But it’s still hard to tell if they have improved enough to advance in the playoffs. Let’s not forget this is 5A, (probably a 6A next year) that will be 4-0 against all 3A and 1 4A schools.  Their Achilles Heel is that 2nd Rd. Time will tell

Unfortunately for me, it will be a long season for Dburg this season. I just hope the kids improve week in and week out and fight till the end holding their heads up high. As for this game, I'm not expecting it to be close. Munford should roll!

That Covington/Munford game was on a Thursday night. I took a group of Dyersburg players with me to it. Munford is as fast as I’ve ever seen them since I started playing at Dyersburg in 2000. Jordan Bell is a special athlete and a fine young man. Numbers 2 and 11(if I remember correctly) were faster than greased lightning. Munford is much improved from last year, and Dyersburg has taken a big step back. We’ve had some key losses due to injury and legal troubles and are still trying to put together a halfway decent Oline. Munford will win handily. I just hope my boys learn, grow, and fight till the end.

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
