Why would Reed be a great fit for the Hornets moving forward? Hasn't he been on the staff there for a while? I'm just wanting to know some opinions. Don't really know the guy except some of the things people have told me about him.

He has basically been the coach in waiting. Does anyone  think Huntland will go in a different direction with this hire?

As far as expectations go, I don't think they would be very high at that school, would it? They desperately need a culture change.

You couldn’t handle a culture change with a youth league football team. You might need to worry about hanging on to the shaking job you possess. Non-certified volunteer coaches are very expendable!

Jimmy Sexton is meeting with the School Director after Thanksgiving. He has about 3 candidates including Rankin (formerly at Riverdale and Alcoa). He’s got a sweetheart deal at a Private in Knox Co but it’s rumored he’d leave if the QB Club can come up with a 100K supplement a new truck and a Hot 24yr Old executive assistant. So we’ll see how deep Huntland’s pockets are.

Reed deserves a chance to see what he can do with a program that has been held hostage for a quarter of a century. There's more to be consider here though. Franklin County will not make or move a teacher to help improve Huntland football. Reed will be hamstrung with his predecessors choices for coaches because FC BOE will not allow him to bring in his ideal staff. It's a tough spot with limited options. He has the passion and energy, something the previous HC never had.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
