I been told yall a few years ago this would happen to Pc staff. Coach Harris leaving pearl to come to the best side "East Side" is huge and the success will continue. Now the question is who does he bring with him? Will he call the offense? I just found out 10 mins ago he is also the girls head track coach? I know brunetti is running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Pearl-Cohn's coaching staff has already transitioned from when Tony Brunetti first became the school's coach back in 2006.  Those first couple of years Coach Brunetti called the offense, Tommy Wilson called the defense, and Dan Davis was also on the staff.  Coach Davis left PC and went to Mt. Juliet Christian Academy several years ago.  He actually took Coach Wilson to MJCA with him as an assistant.  Coach Brunetti was fortunate enough to hire William Darnell who had previously been a head coach at Hunters Lane.  He also hired Damien Harris who was previously at Marshall County with former Stratford coach William Johnson.  He also hired Brandon Woods who I believe was at Maplewood prior to coming to PC as well.  Coach Woods was at one point the offensive coordinator.  Him and Coach Harris have called the offense together as co-coordinators as well.  Coach Darnell was the defensive coordinator for a couple of years.  When he took the Whites Creek job Coach Brunetti became the defensive coordinator in 2020 (the COVID year).  He's called the defense since that time.  Coach Harris is now gone to East Nashville but I believe Coach Woods is still on the staff.

I've talked to Coach Brunetti about this many times.  He wants nothing more than for his coaching tree to continue to branch out and move up the ladder.  There are many reasons why Pearl-Cohn is such a strong program in Metro.  One of those reasons is because they've always been one of the better coached programs in the area and gotten the most out of their players.  That goes all the way back to the 90s when Coach Maurice Fitzgerald was there.

East Nashville hired themselves a great football coach (again).  I'll be eager to see them on the field this upcoming season.

Hopefully this means East vs Pearl again lol

East Nashville

Pearl-Cohn

Cane Ridge

Metro needs to make it imperative that these three teams play one another the first 3 non region weeks of the season.  Those would make for 3 huge money makers and would showcase great football programs playing against one another.

East has gotten one of the better coaching minds in all of Tennessee! Damien Harris has been ready for this for several years now and finally got the opportunity. He was the glue that held Pearl Cohn together and im shocked they let him walk out the building. East, y’all couldn’t have hired a better leader, teacher and just an all around great person than Coach Harris! Pearl Cohn will definitely miss him. So congratulations to Coach Harris your time is now let get it!!!

We will see how it goes this year. Your saying one thing but i'm hearing another. If woods continue to coach i give them a chance on offense. Defense better strap up.

Coach Harris is my blood family, so I’m all in for him to succeed at East!

Coach Harris is my brother as well through the days together at UTM.  Anyone who was fortunate enough to see him play at Pearl-Cohn in 1998 and 1999, or at UTM in the early 2000s, got to witness one of the toughest pound for pound football players that the good Lord put on this planet.

Joey Martin

The 1997 Pearl-Cohn team that went 14-1 may arguably be the most talented football team to ever step on a field in TSSAA History.  I didn’t say “the best” but I will say “most talented”.

From weeks 7-14 of that year they gave up a grand total of 0 points.

I also remember Stratford during that time having Marcus Horton, Antonio Carter, and Antonio Boyd when they were coached by Bubba Spears and Richard Campbell.

The region landscape was so different back in those days with it consisting of:

Pearl-Cohn

Stratford (Pre East Nashville)

Maplewood

Whites Creek

Springfield

Beech (Pre Station Camp)

Clarksville and Kenwood (Pre Rossview and West Creek)

Cheatham County (Pre Sycamore)

The sister region that was paired in the playoffs wasn’t a slouch by any means:

Tullahoma

Antioch (pre Cane Ridge)

Overton

Hillwood

Hillsboro

Columbia Central

Lawrence County

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
