It was probably the opportunity to test themselves against top notch competition like Union County, AE, and Northview.

Or maybe against teams like Ravenwood, Maryville, Greeneville, Knox West, and Bearden. :thumb:

Why did Vaulton and Blankenship leave Alcoa a few years ago?  Was it family related or was it for a setting where they could receive more prominent exposure?

Sam Vaulton was a RPO QB that had played at the highest levels in 7 v 7 football.

He won two National Championships in 7 v 7 league.

He left Alcoa his Senior Year cause Coach Rankin called all the plays regardless if Vaulton saw the defense react before the snap....Sam had to run the play called from the side line.....a  very very basic offense.

Vaulton and Blankenship want to stay together.......and they did.

NOW, Alcoa is an RPO paradises. B)

Swing and a miss. You thought because I commented on this I was a Carter fan? You know what happens when you assume right? I don’t even dislike Alcoa, just hate the hypocrisy of some of the fans aka internet tough guys like you. Calling people names on the internet  :roflol:

also who cares about 7x7? Anyone?

Ha! Says the troll. I assumed nothing because trolls never have a team they follow. It is the first rule in being a troll. Second rule is you hate on teams for their success. All the tricks, I've seen from low post count whiners like YOU! :roflol:

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
