Milan vs Waverly 7/28 Scrimmage

These 2 scrimmage in Milan tomorrow night at 6PM. May get pushed back a bit because of the heat index but regardless this should be a good one. I know Milan brings a lot back from last years 9-4 team. What about Waverly?

This heat tomorrow is going to be very dangerous. I get that these boys need some contact but the coaches have to be smart. Not just in this scrimmage, in all of them that are planned for tomorrow.

Got a report on the scrimmage but no specifics as far as stats or score. Milan moved the ball well running the ball using several different backs. Got a good push on the LOS offensively. Had two 50+ yard td receptions to different receivers and another long catch by a third wr. Defensively we were out of position a few times but athletic ability helped them get right and make the plays. Hopefully we continue to improve on that side of the ball. We scrimmage Dburg next week and they will be stout in the trenches. Will be a great test for us.

I thought we looked good for the first scrimmage. I was impressed with Coach Benson and our line play so far. Next week at Dyersburg will be interesting to see how they do. We had a few important guys out hopefully just for precaution since it’s early.
