The last time these teams played was 2020, with the Cats winning 41-7. John Olive was 20-8 against the Rebels. The previous eight games have been split 4-4.

Tullahoma's defense will thwart the Rebel attack. The Wildcats have owned the fourth quarter in their last two games, with the defense forcing turnovers in both. Offensively, the Cats found their stride late against Rockvale, but when they found it they were unstoppable.

Special teams leans heavily on the Tullahoma side.

Cats -9.5

Crystal ball cloudy  Tullahoma has no offense!  last time tullahoma had offense was semi final game vs haywood

Proves it was the players~  Kick FG and you win.  Went for it.  Only offense is a kicker.  you better use him more.  two long misses on the heavily favored special teams.  They will still make the playoffs.  Lose in the first round

He had a struggle night a couple bad punts and 2 missed fg

The misses were from 47 and 52 so definitely not automatic there. The 22 yarder that wasn’t attempted is automatic. Still don’t understand why you take 7.5 minutes off of the clock and not make it a 2 score game when you know FC wants to grind it out.

Great win Rebels!!!!  All the what ifs are mute points, 47 yard FG by FC(unexpected) and 2 missed by Cats(unexpected)….9 pts gifted to Cats on safety and kick return are what ifs also……FC lost their best lineman( nothing broken just sprain) aiding to the OL struggling to give FC QB more time, another what if

It was a hard fought game that could have went either way. Congrats FC!!

You make an excellent point that I was going to mention about the Cats being gifted with some things. I only got to listen online but it sounded as if Tullahoma was fortunate to be in.

Big Congrats to the Rebels on a big region win and finally breaking through into the W column. Interesting matchup next week at 1A Moore Co.

Major props to the Rebels and congratulations to my friend Tracy Hayworth on his first win as HC at FC. From my view in the press box, Franklin Co. was the better team. Their 10+ minute drive in the fourth quarter, ending with the game-winning TD with 1 minute left, was a thing of beauty.

Tullahoma's offense is only effective when they are in the hurry-up. Late in the first half they drove 75 yards in five plays, scoring on a 33-yard pass from Bratcher to Hargrove. Same thing in the final minute of the game. The Cats drove from their 15 to the FC 35 (aided by a DPI). Chadwick's attempt had plenty of distance but missed a little left. Other than Johnson's 75-yard kickoff return and the safety...well...that's about it.

Should the Cats have kicked the FG with five minutes left in the third quarter leading 16-10? Of course. But you should almost never look at one bad decision as costing you a 1-point game. Especially with 17 minutes of football remaining.

The Rebels likely wouldn't have taken almost 11 minutes to drive the length of the field and score in the 4th if they had been down by two scores. They would have been more aggressive. You just never know how things would have worked out, but admittedly, it would have been nice to have that 9-point lead.

Last night there were three games matching teams from. Region 5-5A. Those three games were decided by a total of five points.

Shelbyville beat Columbia by 2
Lincoln Co. beat Spring Hill by 2
FC beat Tullahoma by 1

There are lots of region games remaining. It's going to be fun to watch it play out.
