GLEASON @ DRESDEN, Oct.20

Can the Bulldogs shock the world? Will the Lions keep on dominating? It seems that regardless of our records, Gleason plays on another level, like wild men when they take on Dresden. They are usually super tough to get a W against! Our towns are only 5 miles apart, same county, same sports' regions, and these two have a very long rivalry. This is a possibility for the perfect "trap game", where Lions drop their guard and the Bulldogs get a huge upset that would be remembered forever. I don't think so, but every week in almost every sport such impossibilities happen, don't they? I pull for the underdogs except when they are playing Dresden. Good luck Gleason, just not on Friday the 20th at Rotary Field. No injuries either, for either of our teams, or any other teams playing, from here on out until Chattanooga. GOOOO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS TIME! I can hardly wait to see the hungry Lions feast upon these bulldogs tonight. Gotta keep starters in most of game I'd think, working them up to playoff readiness. So it'll prob be bunches & bunches of points for Dresden, & a goose egg for Dawgs, or maybe a score or two later in game if our subs are playing. No injuries for either team is the big thing.. BUT, sad to say, FACT is there really ARE those who TRY to injure opponent's key players going into the playoffs. Since they aint that good, they purposely go after the better team's main starters trying to ruin their playoff chances, & they take great pride & honor in doing so. Not rumors or accusations, but first-hand, personal knowledge of this sad fact.. ARRRGGGG! Great thing is Gleason Bulldogs are definitely NOT one of those teams, no way no how! And for those teams, coaches, & players who are that type of villain, may 1000X worse things happen to you & yours if  you just attempt to do such stunts and it fails, and 10,000X worse if you succeed in your dastardly deed of hurting another on purpose. Sorry if this truth bomb triggers anyone sleeping in a false, blind awareness of these happenings, but it's real, & my prayers are not only for nothing bad accidentally happening, but also praying against those who may try to do so on purpose. Doing preventative, protective, proactive, & preemptive praying. Such battles are real, & what we see on earth is just a small mirror reflecting the bigger, more real battles happening in the unseen, spiritual, heavenly realms. Psalm 149 applies to this. .. Sermonette #777 over, offering buckets are at the exit doors as you leave.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
