Great player, great kid - but not a strong candidate to win Mr Football IMO. I agree they played a very tough schedule, and he was driving the bus but I think the struggles in the passing game would prevent him from winning.

TSSAA, I'd agree. Sounds like he is the leader of a very strong team but his 1350 yards and only 31 tackles are hard to measure up to the states of East Robertson's Groves , Trousdale Co.'s Gregory, or Waverly's Stanfield. All 3 of those players based on the post on prior pages are all right at 2K in yardage and both Gregory and Stanfield have big Defensive numbers. YAI will certainly be a force to deal with going forward and this kids sounds like he is leading that charge but I don't know that he will be a contender for this award. Don't know that any of the 3 i mentioned will be either. We are all biased when it comes to these but I do know that when I've talked to opposing coaches, they immediately talk out #6 for TC.

If York played East Robertson's weak schedule with only Smith County being a difficult game...which they lost, Myles would have greater numbers too. No one on ER's schedule is as good at Stone Memorial or Friendship Christian, plus Bledsoe County and Clay County are also very good. York couldn't help playing a couple of weak region teams.

No argument on the strength of schedule. I actually agree 100% with you, however the Mr. Football awards as with most of these type of MVP awards typically start with stats. Thats where all the eyes of the voters go to. Fair or not, thats how it almost works out.

I'm sure the YAI QB is a true difference maker, but Just trying to speak what I believe is the truth in that he want get the nod over some of the other stat stuffers.

At the end of the day, this kid and the focus of YAI should be on the bigger prize of being in Chatt! Best of luck. I have quite a few friends in ole Jamestown. Some good folks up that way!

    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
