Not expecting much this season, Jah was a once in a lifetime player, who just happened to be moving down here, but I don’t expect much of anything. We have a young team whom is now getting more experienced. However I know there are some other schools in our district that I already know are going to have some movement because they are so bold they have been trying to get Bearden players, which I really gonna ask how do u even find a players parent phone number seems creepy, but I guess that the world of recruiting got to do what you got to do and unfortunately, in the past it worked, but not anymore.

He “just happened to be moving down here”?? Comical to say the least. I don’t care either way but at least be truthful about it. I’m a firm believer in school choice. Lots of antics going on at Bearden. Nobody knows who their position coach is. I mean a well known “trainer” in the area was coaching them up at halftime of the West game in their documentary before someone thought it might be a good idea to edit it. Is the trainer  on staff or is he not? Again, I could care less. Just be honest about it. Bearden should be stacked in 2024! They did really well without Jah for the majority of the year.

This is not a good time for this topic.  We need to wait to see how many recruits Jones brings in I mean how many just happen to move to Knoxville and attend Bearden just by chance. You know the way that these Bearden homers keep trying to spin it.  As far as jones going to BA, that would be a dumb move because then he is recruiting against other schools that are allowed to recruit legally and he cannot do anything legally.  I just hate that the T$$AA is to cowardly to actually do anything about these schools recruiting players.  I know people are going to cry where is the proof.  Well just follow jones track record and ask anyone in the football business and they will tell you who does and does not recruit.

It seems that some of us want high school football to be the hometown kids sport. Myself included. "The last pure sports venue". I don't know how, but if someone could start a thread(I don't know how) to discuss just what is happening. Maybe the TSSAA is reading. Just a thought.

The ball is in Richard McWhirter's court

Can't wait to see if they can keep getting better. That staff/Lee Smith sure are trying hard to bring the best talent there! This was most talented team in school history in my memory. Tough to understand how they could have been so mediocre in every facet outside running the ball.  Excited to get down from the mountain and see a couple games again next year. Love the new paint job by the ticket booth this season!

They weren't allowed to bring in a QB per part of the deal with the Boys Bball coach. BBall coach was a big supporter in bringing him in. If he stays longer than the current QB he will get the best knox county QB and then the passing game will be better.

So, they had a deal with the Bball coach that did not allow them to bring in a qb, but the BBall coach was a big supporter in bringing him in?  Not trying to be a smart a, but you lost me there.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
