sorry bud. I dont know as much about bhs basketball as the other folks in this thred. Im just goingby the article I read earlier. just trying to give cjp the benefit of the doubt since hes only been coaching the big boys for 6 or 7 years. didnt count those early Cherokee years. Would say that apples to organs. Didnt mean to offend

Yea beating DB, Greeneville, or Science Hill doesn’t count but beating Heritage and William Blount do for Blevins. You may want to check the teams Bearden has played in the last 7 years

I’m fairly in tune with the schedule the past seven years. I’ve followed them rather closely. I also think it may be worthwhile for you to take a look at JP’s record against William Blount the last two times they’ve faced off. Dawgs are as solid as can be most of the time but find themselves slipping up in crucial times. I expect this to improve as he gains more time coaching in these type of games.

Thanks for that journal. Keep working dawgs.

Speaking of experience, someone needs to learn how to use the quote feature.

Big district game Friday vs West. West coming off a 3 game win streak with most previous win against D-B. I bet that makes JP jealous knowing West got the chance to beat down D-B. I hope he can circle the wagons after that crushing defeat against Fulton. Just never really felt like we were in it. CJW teams will make you feel that way, historically. Just a great coach.

how can that be? how can a school like william blount beat a school like bearden. with the talent pool that bearden has, i just Don't understand. Im not arguing. I just don't get that.

Blount has the best "1-2 combination" in East Tennessee, not just in their district.  If they do manage to beat Bearden this year, that will be one of the big reasons.

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
