Surf4life
When will you DB fans learn to quite your whinin? The way it was told to me SH and DB had a lot of fouls called on both teams and the refs were very tough on both teams, SH was getting called for fouls left and right and Nick Bradley fouled out of the game and 2 other SH players were playing with 4 fouls. SH has a great comeback and hit that 3 and won it. There was no home cookin my friend and my friend Goose that gave me updates on the game is just a hs bball fan and actually wanted DB to win. ALL YOU SH HATERS NEED TO QUIT YOUR WHININ MY FRIENDS!!
CHHS72
Surf4life, WilliamD is not a D-B fan, he is a Science Hill hater. Look at his comments on the thread "Science Hill vs. Rhea County tonight......." [Edited by CHHS72 on 12-10-02 10:19P]
Surf4life
My friend just told me the total attendance of the game was just about 2000 and the Topper Palace was absolutely packed to the limit. That's one thing I miss about East TN...at my hs here in North Carolina the attendance at our basketball games was nowhere near that. The support of hs sports in East TN is incredible. Surf4life
I got it a little wrong again according to my bro Goose. DB's Henry Williams drove with the ball in the last few seconds and took the ball to the basket but missed the shot. SH's Anthony Barcel came down with the rebound and passed it to Odem and that's when Odem hit the 3.
Stokomo
I listened to the last 3 minutes while driving home from the Volunteer/Unicoi Co. game in which the Falcons won on the last play by 2 points. Anyway....the real CULPRIT in this game was how DB was outscored 14-0 in the last three minutes of the game. Although the charge call was "iffy" at best, DD Hamilton missed both free throws to negate the call. DB only hit 10-27 free throws, missing two straight one and ones. If they hit those, there is nothing to talk about. As Coach Morgan put it on the post game show, DB played hard and well, they just didn't close the game and "put it in the bag." I can't wait til part II of the DB S. Hill saga........ [Edited by Stokomo on 12-11-02 12:10A]
Shotcaller
Missed free throws down the stretch is what gave the game to the toppers. Can't turn it over in the middle of the floor against anyone, much less a quality team like The Hill. 11 point lead with three mins to go? Got to put em away.
