West TN 3A Region Predictions

Recommended Posts

Region 6 3A - Chester, South Side and Creek wood will all compete - I have south Winning it and Creek Wood second - Not sure Chester has improved any at all from last year

Region 7 3A - Probably the toughest region in 3A Fayette Ware, Bolivar, Haywood, Dyer County, Dyersburg, South Gibson... WOW... I may change this prediction later: Dyersburg wins it and Bolivar finishes second - Fayette Ware and dyer county could win it and finish second and south Gibson took Dyer County to 3 OT's... This is a tough region

Region 8 3A -  It is Munford, Egypt and Ridgeway...  I have Ridgeway winning it and Munford second

7AAA is a Gauntlet, and Bolivar/Fayette Ware playing in the 2/3 game is going to create a headache for either the District 13AAA Champion or Runner-Up as your their region play in game will be against either the #2 team of the #7 team in the state. Sometimes it's as much about luck as it is being good at this point in the season.

The District 13AAA/14AAA Tournaments and subsequent 7AAA Tournament are going to be absolutely epic.

I watched the consolation and finals for 13AAA last night and here are my take aways:

1. Dyersburg is legit - Their 6'8" kids played so tough last night. Guards shot it and didn't turn it over. Coach's son is best player in the gym last night

2. Dyer County seemed "off". Like the things they were doing usually worked and it wasn't working. they didn't make shots and gave up a lot of easy shots and wide open 3's.

3. Obion has improved alot since I saw them way earlier in the year. They shoot it so good.

4. South Gibson is small. they have good PG play and decent shooters but they don't have any size. Length will bother them in a big way. Apparently they lost a kid to injury according to a fan I talked to last night.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
