Bearden VS A̶E̶… Gibbs for the MAC Championship!

Dawgs vs. whatever Gibbs is for the MAC championship, despite AE beating them. Words of cheating I’ve heard across the landscape. Last time Bearden made it to the championship, they faced Gibbs, and Bearden walked out with the victor. Perhaps times have changed?

Also, not sure if there are any Gibbs fans on here, but if there are, why are Gibbs youth sports teams always so good yet it can never convert to high school? Is it a development issue within the high school? I know Bearden had that issue for a while, and now we don’t anymore.

Gibbs is 6-1… I stand corrected did not realize Gibbs was that good.

Rorschach’s Journal IV October 31st, 2024

Gibbs on Packervision playing for two seed. Gibbs program strong. Coaches went to school there and teach now. Community focused approach. You moved Bearden away from it completely. Gibbs players come back to Gibbs. Where will your recruits go back to? You can’t hide forever Donald. Wherever you post Rorschach will be there to remind CoachT acquaintances of Tellico hillbilly posting from his office at Bearden. Must remember to investigate how Bearden loses more games than Gibbs with recruits. Initial guess: better coaches. Never surrender, never compromise.

Gibbs a good record against relatively not so good football teams. AC showed that Gibbs is not at the next level.

Gibbs played without several starters against AC, including their QB, who looked really good last night.

Obviously AC and Greeneville are the best teams in Regions 1/2, but Gibbs is pretty darned solid.

HTV, I’m one of your fans. Didn’t say they weren’t solid. They are. Their record is  not inflated but there margin of victory is misleading.

their opponents are 36 w and 59 losses. I remove their loss to AC and their victories are over teams with a combined record of 28 wins and 58 losses.

AC and Greeneville are members of weak regions as well. We need to add Betsy to the aforementioned 2 as well. Gibbs is solid but we often say…… a team can be better than their record or they are not as good as their record.

I don't think you have the correct info when it comes to Gibbs QB (Axton) not playing.  5starpreps Article had him throwing 4 Int's when he had only thrown 2 the entire year before that against AC and was in the Video they did.

Don't really disagree with much you are saying.

But most regions are top heavy, with one or two schools that dominate.  The numbers you cite aren't just numbers that you would see with Gibbs.  There are too many classifications and too few schools in regions.  We are going to have haves and have nots.  Just not a lot of top to bottom competition in any region.

And I did omit E-Ton, not on purpose.  I sit corrected.

The written word is tough. We can’t read tone, see facial expressions or body language. We agree on much usually.
