The TSSAA and most of its member schools are much too soft to want more competition to win a state championship.  It’s interesting that to the best of my knowledge Tennessee is the only states that separates based on public or private.  In Texas most of the private schools don’t want to play the public schools because they are so good.

Your comparing TN to states that produce elite level talent at a much higher level. Harder for privates to hoard FBS talent when there is so much of it

Your the one comparing TN to Texas, a state that has about 100 schools that are larger than the largest school in TN. I'd feel pretty confident against privates too if the school i followed had an enrollment of 4-5k
