I disagree with your opinion on McTorry's conditioning. Even if he wasn't in the best shape, he was at least equal to Nelson. If you had seen McTorry wrestle at senior nationals I think you would agree. Nelson was simply better in that year. (although, I believe McTorry would have beaten him a year later.

Nobody has mentioned Jeff Lloyd, a one-legged state champion and national placer at 103 pounds. He would have crushed Sweeton at that weight and certainly would have given Leen or James or any of those other guys mentioned a great match with his strength. Martin Francis was way before my time, but he would probably start class on every Tennessee team ever at 98, 103, 105, or 112.
