What is wrong with Antioch?????????????

What in the world is wrong with Antioch???? They have five losses already with the a deep, deep team that has two 6'8 kids, a 6'7 soph, and a couple of 6'5 F's, along with a good guard core of Gordon, Richardson, Woods, and Trice....... What is going on???? This team was my pick for second in the district behind Maplewood, and they are making me look very, very bad..... Three straight losses? Whoa...........................

I think a big problem this week is their Coach is sick. They look disorganized and look really lazy with the assistant coach at the helm.

Stomach Virus, it went through his family and he ended up with it. From what I understand it is very contagious and has been keeping the Doctors busy. Antioch really needed Coach Mangrum this week.

In my opinion Antioch was under achieving prior to the coach getting sick.They look "State ready",but are not playing like it. Talent is NOT the problem. They have plenty of talent,yet they are not playing with any emotion,confidence or heart. They need someone who can be a leader and provide energy.The answer may lie at the point guard spot. There are a few players who have not had an opportunity to play yet that could fill this void.

Brian Vickers just became eligible and J.W. is another option.

With the talent Antioch has,they should be able to rotate 5 players at a time and not miss a beat. Much like defending State Champs White Station did last year.

antioch is paper champions. they only look good on paper. they are one of the few lineups in davidson county with height that can rival some of the good teams in memphis. but as stated earlier the desire is not always there with antioch.

Are the players really the problem??? maybe coach mangrum doesnt know what to do with the players he has. i agree the players do need some heart, but they are not on the court long enough. i've watched them play and as soon as someone makes any kind of mistake he pulls them out and you won't see them for a while. its really hard for a player to gain confidence if hes only on the court for 2 min at a time.

I agree Whitehope. It is difficult for players to get in a rhythm if they keep getting pulled. However,the coach needs to make sure he runs practice the same way. This way the players will get accustomed to the rotation and it will go over more smoothly in the game.

Keep in mind,this is still a young team,but they need to get it together quick if they are to make any progress in the second half of the season.

What is wrong with Antioch????????????? maybe they need a player to step up who can do that. mangrum should sit down who is not getting it done and play those who will. if the players disagree with playing time then they should get at the person ahead of them in practice and show it in the game you dont have to average 15 to be good just do your role

Atta boy white hope! Bash your own coach, that has got to be great for your team chemistry as well. Do they have any mirrors in the locker room @ Antioch? If they do you may walk up to it and see the problem may begin with you.
